Got the front end put back together. Refurbished Quad assemblies with new (off ebay) grill & trim.
New wheels – Rota RB’s
I like the classic minilite look – I think these wheels will look really nice. 15″ with low profile tires, same rolling radius as stock wheels so the speedo will be right on.
Window glass installed
I have all the glass put back in, rear cargo area as well as all the door glass. Front door mirrors from a 83 corolla are installed.
Starting to clean up the interior for Dynamat.
Slowly adding some bright work
Rear signal lights, badges, side lights:
Fuel door decal & lock:
Front repeaters:
Mocking up with 1983 side mirrors:
Bringing it home
Rented the uhaul and brought the car back home. Boy, it looks nice in the sun!
Color!
Car finally has color on it! I will bring it home this weekend but for now, It looks very nice:
Almost ready for color
All the rust has been repaired – The metal was quite bad on the rear cargo area windows. I’ve not seen a wagon yet that hasn’t got rust in this area. I’ve also removed the side mirror mounts on the drivers door. I’m going to install ’82+ door mirrors which mount in the glass area.
Finally going off to the paint shop
Finally, after months of waiting – Off we go for paint!
Seat Dissassembly
Taking the seats apart – using the existing covers as patterns to have new ones made.
Stripping for paint
In preparation for the much needed paint job, I have started to strip both the exterior and interior of the car. I’ve removed the rubber body moldings and all the other bright work.
